Cross pendant late ‘700 early ‘800 in 9 kt gold with turquoise enamels.
Popular jewel unobtainable in these conditions, enamels made by hot and processing carried out entirely by hand.
The jewel should have been produced in the goldsmith centers of Abruzzo or Molise in the towns of Scanno, Pescocostanzo, Agnone, Pescasseroli, Sulmona, Atessa, Casoli, Penne, Teramo, Guardiagrele, Chieti, L’Aquila.
The popular jewel had in addition to the decorative function also the symbolic one in fact they had a strong apotropaic symbol as well as the religious one.
